Canela, cinnamon… Use it for everything!

Hola amorcitos!
¡Feliz día de Amor y Amistad!

Cinnamon sticks

It’s been cold outside these recent days and I don’t know about you, pero soy fanática del té.

I have a friend named Juanita que le hecha la canela a todo y un día me dice, “Betty, debes de tomar té de canela. Huele rico, y sabe delicioso, especially with a little bit of raw honey.”

Pues, le dije, OK! Aver si lo que dice Juanita es sierto.

Then I started reading about it and man, i think mis amigos Mexicanos got it right. Ellos usan canela pa’ todo. Ok, not really, but in a steamy pot of cafe de olla… ay maami, que rico!

Sobre todo, la canela ayuda en el regulación de los niveles de glucosa. It’s true. It also has antibiotic power and which has people calling cinnamon the miracle spice. No kidding!

  • If you use half a teaspoon daily, cinnamon can lower your bad cholesterol (LDL)
  • Cinnamon may help with insulin production in the body and level out your glucose
  • Cinnamon is said to have an antifungal element
  • Apparently, Candida cannot live in a cinnamon environment
  • Y porque ya sabes que cuando cocinamos, hagamos suficiente comida para todo el equipo, canela ayuda para preservar la comida. ¡Y con forma natural!
  • Canela huele rico, and just by smelling it, you can boost your memory and cognitive function
  • Para prevenir E. coli bacteria, se puede usar la canela también
  • Cinnamon has been found to be effective for headaches and migrane relief. ¡Me encanta la naturaleza!

It’s actually quite amazing what this little, natural, delicious smelling spice can do. So drink it in tea, sprinkle it on toast, put it in your cafecito or even in your everyday cooking. You’ll be glad you did!

Hasta la próxima, amorcitos!
Cuídate,
Tía Betty
